I finally got to watch what they called 'Broadway's Biggest Blockbuster' last week! If you haven't seen it yet and plan to watch it, here is the MOST important tip that I can give:
Watch The Wizard of Oz before you see Wicked.

This will make a whole lot of difference on how much you will appreciate and enjoy the show. It's a good thing my brother-in-law Pat told my husband about refreshing our memory since he's already seen Wicked. And it was a doubly good thing that less than a week before we watched - right when the mall was already about to close, I all of a sudden remembered this and asked my husband to look for the DVD! (We almost forgot about it!) We were able to get it for 200 bucks and it gave the Broadway Musical more meaning (because had I not seen the movie, I honestly would not have enjoyed the show as much).
But of course there were other things that I loved about Wicked besides its connection and co-relation to The Wizard of Oz and how the untold story of its witches made for a good twist. The moment I laid eyes on the set, I was mesmerized. It was indeed a grand production and made me understand why we had to pay so much (haha!). It really is no fun buying expensive stuff when you only hear about how great something is without actually seeing it yet - and the uncertainty of it kept us in suspense --- the question that kept repeating in our heads was: Were those tickets gonna be worth it?! (they better!)
And I am happy to say that the production (besides the story itself) made our tickets worth buying. The Australian cast was wonderful and extremely talented! I won't go into details here so as not to spoil it for those who are still going to watch Wicked. All I can say is, my husband and I were very entertained and enjoyed our date night! :)
