How Much Influence a Mom Has

I'm a mom of two, and by now I've seen how much of an influence I actually have on my daughters.
When I mess up my own routine, I mess up theirs.
When they see me eat sugary sweets, they want to eat some too.
When they see me brushing my teeth, they want to brush theirs.
When they see me read books, they too develop an interest in them.
When they see and hear me pray, they follow suit.
When they hear me say Thank You to others, Audrey does the same even without being told.

  So what am I saying?

Mothers are a living example and model to their kids. We mess up, and they copy us not knowing that what they're doing isn't good for them. But when we do what's right, it not only benefits us - it benefits them.

Motherhood is not an easy task, nor is being a good example to little ones who are sharper and smarter than we all think. Every move we make, every word we say - all are being recorded in those little big brains! There is practically no escape! The only way to reassure their healthy growth physically, emotionally and spiritually is to continually aim to do our best, improve ourselves and be intentional about what we're doing and why we're doing them.

Are we up for the challenge? :)

“Motherhood is the greatest potential influence either for good or ill in human life. The mother's image is the first that stamps itself on the unwritten page of the young child's mind. It is her caress that first awakens a sense of security; her kiss, the first realization of affection; her sympathy and tenderness, the first assurance that there is love in the world.”

P.S. Dads aren't exempt either, especially if you have sons. Your kids are watching you too! :)
